Plastic posts are not enough to keep drivers out of bike lanes, and here’s a #StreetFail that proves it.

Reader Sloan Campi sent in these photos from the Arapahoe Street bike lane. She writes:

I was riding in the protected bicycle lane on Arapahoe at 14th Street, when I stumbled upon a taxi parked in the bike lane (#StreetFail number 1). Not 5 seconds later, a Shamrock Foods semi-truck RAN OVER the bollards behind me and parked in the bike lane, effectively trapping me between two motor vehicles in a protected bike lane (#StreetFail number 2)! Couldn’t go without sharing.

Without stronger physical barriers or any enforcement, the Arapahoe Street bike lane — the city’s newest and nicest — isn’t providing the safe-for-all-abilities cycling environment that it’s supposed to.
