Three people died from traffic violence on Denver streets in the last week. The total number of road deaths this year is three.

Two pedestrians have died on Denver streets since the last Traffic Violence Report. The number of road deaths this year is now 70, compared to 61 on Dec. 25 of last year, a 15 percent increase. 

Saliha Abdalla-Suleiman, 42, was the victim of the December 11 hit-and-run where a driver steered a Winnebago motor home onto a sidewalk. Her family thinks the driver may have intentionally run over the Eritrean refugee because she is Muslim.

Police detained the driver suspected of crashing a Winnebago motor home into a sidewalk and killing a 42-year old victim yesterday.

438 people have been seriously injured amid 23,319 Denver traffic crashes this year.

Two new fatalities bring the number of Denver road deaths to 67, compared to 60 at this point last year, a 12 percent increase.
