We talked to four passengers who ride the 15 and 15L despite social problems like homelessness and crime sometimes present on the bus. RTD will upgrade bus stops, add bus shelters and install safety upgrades at 37 bus stops for the 15 & 15L along East Colfax. Changes to the street will boost pedestrian safety and accelerate bus trips, too.

If they're loud enough, a small group of people can sabotage transportation projects that would benefit the entire city. To prevent that from happening, supporters of good transit and safer streets need to speak up for these projects, and the time to speak up for bus rapid transit on Colfax is now.

Denver Public Works Unveils Plan for True Bus Rapid Transit on East Colfax Avenue
Denver Public Works wants to give buses their own lanes down a center strip of the city's busiest bus corridor, complete with "enhanced" stations that speed up the boarding process by letting riders pay beforehand and board at any door. Traffic signals will give buses priority at intersections.
