The article about bike to work day includes this quote: “Police say 75 percent of bike fatalities in Colorado are caused by cyclists not wearing helmets.” Really? I’d love to see the data on that. Helmets are great, but if you get hit by a car, your body can only handle so much ‘blunt for trauma’…helmet or no. Anybody else think this sounds off? Also, this does of great job shifting the blame to the ‘reckless cyclists’.

That does sound off. Helmets aren’t going to save your heart and lungs from being crushed. Regardless, cyclists should wear helmets and also buckle them. I saw two cyclists this morning that didn’t have their helmets buckled.
